Xuan Zheng graduated from Mulberry Learning in 2016. CHINESE ZONE

ACTIVITY: TANG YUAN MAKING 

Did You Know? Tang Yuan (汤圆) symbolizes reunion, and they are traditionally consumed during the Dongzhi Festival, which is also a time for the family to get together!

MALAY ZONE

ACTIVITY: KETUPAT HANDICRAFT

Did you know? Local stories passed down through the generations have attributed the creation of this style of rice preparation to the seafarers’ need to keep cooked rice from spoiling during long sea voyages!

INDIAN ZONE

ACTIVITY: RANGOLI COLORING

Did You Know? The purpose of rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck. Design depictions may also vary as they reflect traditions, folklore and practices that are unique to each area.

What is the “Habits of Mind”?


Habits of Mind is about knowing how to behave intelligently and respond effectively to uncertainty or dilemmas. It provides children of all ages a framework for autonomous learning, critical thinking and effective inquiry. The framework was developed by Dr Arthur Costa, Emeritus Professor of Education at California State University, Sacramento, and Co-Director of the Institute for Intelligent Behavior in El Dorado Hills, California.
