Let’s Stay Covid-19 Safe At Mulberry Learning!
As Singapore gradually ease out of the Circuit Breaker, Mulberry Learning will reopen in phases to support parents who may have to resume work at their workplaces and those who are ready to send their children back for infant care and child care help. Extensive preparations have been put in place to safeguard the well-being of children. As we welcome our little ones back over the next few weeks, here are some of the measures to keep Mulberry Learning Covid-safe!
Safe Management Officer(s) (SMO) in our preschools helps to focus the various safe management efforts. As our teachers primarily care for the little ones, we want to have an extra pair of eyes to look out and ensure that all staff and children practise safe distancing, and put on their masks or face shields.
Masks and face shields have to be worn at all times to prevent children from touching their faces. While it may be a challenging endeavour for the little ones, there are some creative ways to help them cope with wearing masks for prolonged periods of time. At Mulberry Learning, teachers will also teach children how to properly put on and remove their masks and face shields.
Prior to the reopening of the preschools, our principals, teachers, and support staff have done their part and went for the one-time swab testing. As they interact closely with the little ones, it is important that our staff are healthy too! This also gives parents an ease of mind as they send their children to the infant care and child care centres.
Many of us should already be familiar with the use of SafeEntry to clock in and out of supermarkets and shopping malls. To reduce the time required by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to identify potential close contacts of Covid-19 patients, Mulberry Learning preschools will also collect the entry and exit information of staff and children.
Temperature-taking and health checks have been the norm even before the Covid-19 situation, so our little ones have already been used to it. This time, we will step up efforts to take the temperature of all staff and children thrice a day! Children who do not feel well should stay at home!
To further safeguard the health and well-being of the children, parents are not allowed into the premises of our preschools. Should parents need to communicate to teachers, they can do so via online teleconferences or video conferencing. Not to worry, if you’re looking to view our preschools, our virtual tours are still ongoing!
Children will be taught to maintain good hygiene habits. They will be reminded to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly, at least every 2 hours and especially before and after mealtimes, after toilet visits, or when their little hands are dirtied during classroom activities. In the first few weeks of resuming school, our educators at Mulberry Learning will priortise the teaching and learning of keeping germs away!
Mulberry Learning’s preschool and classroom environment will simulate safe distancing just like what children see in public communal spaces. Little markings and boxes will guide them to queue up 1 metre apart, they will be allocated seats apart from their peers, and there will be no mixing across classes (this also includes any teaching materials and equipment)!
Mulberry Learning preschools will also be stepping up our cleaning and disinfection processes to ensure high levels of environmental hygiene. All furniture, fittings, toys, mattresses, and surfaces will be wiped down and disinfected daily! Our support staff will disinfect frequently-used surfaces like taps and door handles at a higher frequency.
Other measures such as ensuring that there are no cross-deployment of staff across centres are already put in place even before the Circuit Breaker and these measures will continue when the preschools reopen. With all these Covid-19 Safe Management Measures in place, we’re keeping your children safe! 🙂
