Are you an experienced preschool educator? Wondering how else Mulberry Learning can make a difference for you? Hear how Lead Teacher Sarwindar has grown professionally, even after being in the preschool sector for over 25 years!

How I became a Mulberry Learning teacher

Teaching is my ultimate passion. I have been a preschool educator for more than 25 years. I believe that every child deserves an excellent education and every one of them is capable, competent, and creative. My love of teaching continues to motivate me to become a better teacher. It was not an easy task. In my early years, I couldn’t manage my class, I didn’t know how to teach effectively. I wished then, that there was someone who could mentor me, cheer me on and show me the way.

I joined the Mulberry Learning family in 2014 to better my craft as a senior preschool teacher. I’ve always known that I wanted to guide fellow teachers in their teaching journey and to share the value of life-long learning with them. 5 years later in 2019, I was given the opportunity to do so.

Mentoring and guiding fellow preschool educators

In 2019, I was deployed to mentor and guide a team of new Mulberry Learning teachers in Beijing, China for two months. My work involved working with them to guide them through the Reggio-inspired curriculum, pedagogy and practices, how to facilitate the Project Inquiry learning process, as well as the Reggio-inspired environment set up. This experience I had in China further propelled my desire to become a Lead Teacher.

Growing in knowledge and skills

“The more you know, the more you realise you don’t know” Even after being in the preschool sector for over 25 years, I then realise that there’s still so much to learn! At Mulberry Learning, the vast resources and training enabled me to be more efficient and productive in completing my daily tasks. Teacher training programmes helped me achieve greater consistency in the adherence of processes and granted various opportunities for me to harness my teaching skills, which keeps me motivated and inspired at work.

“Every day I make new discoveries over children’s learning and above all myself. Each day, I continue to sharpen my teaching skills through reading, collaborating, observing and thinking alongside the children in the classroom. This is my biggest source of motivation to push me through all the hustle and bustle of a day in the childcare centre.”

Working at Mulberry Learning has given me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of how children learn best and how interesting teaching and learning can be. Our award-winning curriculum truly provides children with the best preschool experiences.

“It is my utmost pleasure to be able to work with a team of educators and specialists who have the children’s interest at heart and with the same kind of passion to nurture young minds in the preschool ages.”
