Why I applied, and why I stayed for over 9 years

Why did you apply to become a Mulberry Learning teacher?

Previously, I had been working in a well-known Montessori kindergarten in Dalian, China for six years. I’ve also dreamt of going abroad to further my studies so I went to an agency. Among the several preschools shown by the agency, I was attracted to Mulberry Learning’s Reggio Emilia approach.


What makes working at Mulberry Learning so different from other preschools?

As a preschool teacher at Mulberry Learning, I had to play multiple roles in work, such as a supporter, an activist, an instructor and facilitator of children’s activities, and most importantly, a role model for children to pick up the right habits and values such as respect and mutual cooperation.

In particular, I like how Mulberry Learning offers children a “free, open, and respectful” space to learn and grow.

What motivates you at work?

The bright, smiling faces of little children motivate me each day at work. When I get off work, the children surround me daily telling me how much they love me and how they hold and not let go of me gives me a sense of accomplishment and happiness!

“I also appreciate receiving good comments, feedback, and praises from parents about how my students achieve excellent grades in Primary school or when they receive awards and accolades relating to the learning of Chinese. These make me feel that I’ve made the right decision to work here!”

Moreover, my colleagues are very caring and we often help each other, encourage each other, and make progress together as a family!




What made you stay for over 9 years?

I particularly like how at Mulberry Learning, there is a constant emphasis for teachers to learn and develop too. Continual training is necessary for us to keep abreast of the latest curriculum trends and child pedagogies, to constantly enrich ourselves and improve on our professional capabilities in teaching and guiding young children.

In addition to providing teachers with professional training in related fields of our work, Mulberry Learning also provides opportunities to improve the personal abilities of teachers so that we have a clearer sense of our career paths and developmental direction.
